When in Seattle the http://motorhomediaries.com guys were told by Rachel Hawkridge, chair of the http://lpwablog.blogspot.com/ about the http://www.givoice.org/coffeestrong, just outside of Ft. Lewis, which acts as a hub for area anti-war activists/enlisted personnel/vets. There, they happened to run into Josh Stieber and Conor Curran from http://contagiousloveexperiment.wordp… who shared a bit about their backgrounds and what led them to walk/bike across the country.
A Link to Help MHD Make a Full-Length Documentary!
SEATTLE, WA – It’s said that all good things come to an end. I’m not sure I necessarily agree with that for all things but it is the case for Motorhome Diaries: The Search for Freedom in America. While an upcoming post(s) will share with you each of our future plans the purpose of this post is to solicit interest from those of you that have the skills and interest to help turn our raw footage into a polished, full-length documentary.
The aim of the documentary, as with the book we plan to write, is to inform people about the ideas, individuals and organizations of the broad freedom movement we’ve been fortunate to connect with through mediums other than those we currently utilize. There are some people, for example, that would prefer curling up in their favorite chair to read a book or sitting in front of their flat screen TV to watch a DVD than viewing text and videos online.
Jason volunteered to spearhead our book and Adam agreed to hash out a business plan for MHD going forward (look for posts from them on these topics soon) and I opted to head-up the documentary.
We’re open to considering almost every aspect of how we go about getting the documentary made, so please let us know your questions, thoughts and suggestions. Ideally:
- We’d work with someone that has experience making documentaries – whether professionally or in their spare time (as it’s much more difficult to keep folks’ interested for 90 minutes than for the length of a YouTube video). And it goes without saying that we’d prefer to work with someone that wants to lessen the size and scope of the State.
- We’d like to be involved to the maximum extent possible as this is an area that we’d like to continue to develop our skills.
- We’ll obviously hype the hell out of whoever we do end up working with (assuming they do us right). As for monetary compensation – we’re open to proposals whether that be a flat fee, a percentage of the revenue from the DVD (which we think would incentive the person with whom we work to create an awesome product) or something else.
We have about 2 terabytes of video content and a couple thousand pictures.
If you’re interested, have additional questions to help you reach a decision, or know someone that we should talk with please let us know by leaving a comment on this post or by emailing us at: mail@motorhomediaries.com.
Thanks in advance! I’m really looking forward to seeing this take shape!
